SAN DIEGO -- Two casinos has been forced to close because of power outages related to the region's wildfires, according to the San Diego North Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Harrah's Rincon Casino & Resort and Valley View Casino have been evacuated due to power outages, and hope to reopen by Wednesday, a statement from the bureau said.
Several area hotels have offered free or discounted rooms to residents forced to evacuate their homes, including the La Costa Resort and Spa, Hilton San Diego Torrey Pines, San Diego Marriott Del Mar and Coronado Bay Resort."We have seen an incredible outpouring of support from our local hospitality partners in light of the recent fire disasters affecting the residents of San Diego County as well as stranded tourists," said Cami Mattson, the bureau's president and chief executive officer.Many North County attractions have been closed due to air quality issues, and will reopen when it is safe to do so. Attractions remaining open include Quail Botanical Gardens in Encinitas and the Del Mar "Scaregrounds" Scream Zone.
