South Bay Teacher Arrested

CHULA VISTA, Calif. -- A 34-year-old South Bay high school teacher is facing criminal charges for allegedly molesting a 16-year-old female student, authorities reported Friday.Castle Park High School instructor Armando Rodriguez was the subject of an as-yet unserved arrest warrant when he turned himself in at the South Bay Courthouse on Wednesday morning, police spokesman Bernard Gonzales said.A seven-count criminal complaint was filed this week against Rodriguez, who has since been released from custody on his own recognizance pending a court hearing scheduled for September, Gonzales said.
The spokesman had no information on the precise nature of the charged offenses or the time frame in which they allegedly occurred.
