ENCINITAS, Calif. -- The "Extreme Makeover" of a North County home was revealed on ABC this Sunday, 10News reported.
The ABC hit show "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" transformed the cramped home of an Encinitas widower, Brian Wofford, into his family's dream home.
After his wife died, Wofford single-handedly raised his eight children and was unable to keep up with needed repairs for their three-bedroom, two-bathroom home. So, "Extreme Makeover" sent a design team, contractors and more than 150 workers to give the family a hand.Friends, neighbors and many who had never met the Wofford family also pulled together to make this dream come true.
"This family just really deserves it after the tragic loss of their mother. If anyone deserves it, it really is this family," said Tyler Burke, a family friend. In a letter to the show, Wofford wrote, "With tears in my eyes, I ask for your help for my children. They should have it better.""He takes care of eight kids. He manages his own business. He tries to manage the house. He's just falling short, so we are here to help him," said Diane Korman, the show's producer.Janie Clave, another family friend, said, "If there was one person or one family in this area that deserves this, it's without a doubt them. They're an amazing family -- from bottom to top -- they strike this whole community and everybody is blessed to be a part of their life."
