SAN DIEGO -- A former Poway city employee pleaded guilty Wednesday to molesting a young boy and attempting to molest two others he was hired to baby-sit.
Richard Milton Knapp, 61, had worked the cash register, answered phones and greeted the public at the Poway Community Pool, said Jim Bentz, the city's community services manager.
Knapp, arrested June 13, faces between nine and 14 years in state prison when he is sentenced Nov. 4, said Deputy District Attorney Jill Schall.
The defendant pleaded guilty to two counts of committing a lewd act on a child under 14, one count of oral copulation on a child and two counts of attempting to commit a lewd act on a child.
Schall said she accepted the pleas to keep the victims, who were between the ages of 9 and 11, from having to testify in court.
