Councilman Raises Stink Over Tecolote Spill
Sewage Spill Dumped 2 Million Gallons Into Mission Bay
Questions over a sewage spill in Tecolote Canyon this past February have local lawmakers raising a stink.
'This City Is Not Going To Take It Anymore'
Nearly all of Mission Bay was shutdown in late February due to a sewage spill in which some 2 million gallons of muck dumped into the bay.
As the sewage oozed, the right agencies weren't doing their job, according to City Councilman Byron Wear.
Tuesday Wear called for a full investigation into the spill and asked that all the agencies involved accept full accountability.
A special hearing on the spill is scheduled for Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the city manager says steps are already being taken to ensure that a similar debacle doesn't happen again.
