Phillies Top Brewers; Look To Sweep Series

The National League's top team in the regular season is on the verge of being swept in the division series. The Los Angeles Dodgers own a two-games-to-none lead in the series following a 10-3 rout of the Cubs in Chicago.The Dodgers scored five times in the second inning following an error by second baseman Mark DeRosa. Russell Martin capped the rally with a three-run double off loser Carlos Zambrano, who was reached for seven runs - three earned - and six hits in six and a-third.Manny Ramirez had two RBIs, including a solo blast in the fifth. It was his 26th career postseason homer, extending his major league record.Rafael Furcal added three hits and two RBIs to the rout.Winning pitcher Chad Billingsley gave up only a run and five hits in six and two-thirds. Billingsley carried a two-hit shutout into the seventh before yielding three straight hits with two outs.The Dodgers can wrap up the series at home Saturday.
Phillies 5, Brewers 2
Brett Myers outpitched CC Sabathia and Shane Victorino belted a grand slam as the Philadelphia Phillies knocked off Milwaukee 5-2 to take a two-games-to-none lead in the National League Division Series.Myers limited the Brewers to two runs and a pair of hits in seven innings to help the Phils move within one victory of their first NLCS appearance in 15 years. Myers got into trouble immediately, walking J.J. Hardy with the bases loaded in the top of the first. The Brewers didn't get another hit until Hardy led off the seventh with a double.The Phillies tagged Sabathia for five runs in the second inning, highlighted by Victorino's blast. Victorino had three of the Phils' nine hits.Sabathia was pulled in the fourth, charged with six hits and four walks. It was his shortest outing since being traded to the Brewers in early July.Brad Lidge worked the ninth for his second save in two days, wrapping up a combined three-hitter. He's converted all 43 of his save opportunities this season.The Brewers will try to avoid elimination when they host Game 3 Saturday.Rays Beat White Sox 6-4
The Tampa Bay Rays won their first-ever postseason game in a 6-4 final over the Chicago White Sox. Rays rookie Evan Longoria homered in his first two at bats and drove in three runs on three hits and scored twice. The White Sox came back on a two-run homer from Dewayne Wise in the top of the third, but lost that lead in the bottom of the inning when the Rays scored three more runs. James Shields got the win. Dan Wheeler pitched the ninth to get the save.
